This is what Mayor Jack Siler sees coming in the near future. From a business prospective the new mayor of Ft. Lauderdale decades sees a lot of excitement in the community. To an audience of members with the  Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Siler stated that the new Fort Lauderdale Commission has a fiscally conservative representation and that should be a good sign for the city. "We should be in the business of helping you with your business," Siler told the audience at a monthly chamber breakfast on March 26. Seeing the current economic downturn as an opportunity to lay the foundation for the future, "We are going to come out of this with all cylinders firing," he promised. Representing the economic base of Fort Lauderdale and Broward County is tourism, real estate and the marine industry. 2011 brings the city's Centennial observance and the Mayor indicated this milestone provides a great target date to implement many improvements for the city's future.
